Would I Make a Good Mma Fighter With Training?

I’m 5′ 9.5", have a 76" reach, 170 lbs. 11% body fat and run a 6 minute mile. If i train hard could I become a good candidate for mma?

if you want to become a good mma fighter just think about what mma means, it means you practice 2 or more martial art forms, just find two types of martial arts you want to learn. learn one then learn the other. you then will have mixed your own martial arts.

well i guess you need to find out if you can take a punch or not. Not everybody can fight…biggest part of fighting is being able to take hits, as well as cardio.

i don’t know could you. Find an mma gym and start training hard for hours a day, everyday. and then once you and your instructors feel your ready to compete you will. Thousands of people train everyday, and never compete because it is very physically demanding, and takes alot of mental focus and strength to become a great fighter.

Any sport is only 10 percent physical and 90 percent mental. So what is your IQ?

your points are really moot to be honest. You sound to be in decent shape but what you run in the mile has absolutely nothing to do with how well you’ll perform in a MMA match. It seems all of a sudden ever male in the US thinks because they are in good shape they can be a MMA fighter.

    what are your fighting qualifications?

cardio is an issue but you need to work more at explosive exercises not just running a mile.

Best of luck to you. But if your only qualifications to be a fighter is that you run a 6 minute mile and have a 76" reach you will not succeed.

You sound qualified but for your height i suggest try and drop to 8% body fat and about 162-165

    Funny answers :)

Start training, as long as there is nothing wrong with you then you will do well with enough dedication. You don’t need to drop weight or fat lol Size/strength is an advantage, but it may also place you in heavier weight classes with heavier opponents.
