Im about 17 years old 180lbs 6’2 and i have always found an interest in fighting. I live in Virginia Beach area and play football. i want to find someone who can give me a good path in direction into how and where i should train and who i can find to train with. Any kind of information and help would be fine once i have a job i will be able to pay any fees so if theres and websites that can help me out it would be fine

There should be gyms around…learn to box, learn to wrestle, take jujitsu, muay thai kickboxing…whatever…

Go to the yellow pages and look in martial arts, there should be a list of gyms. Call and make sure they are a competitive MMA gym and not some hack who claims to teach MMA because of it’s growing popularity. Most places have websites, so check those out too.

If you are still in school join your high school wrestling team. It’s a great place to build a base of fitness and agility on the ground. Also sign up for your schools weight training class.
If you have the time and money after that join a local MMA gym, Hybrid MMA here http://www.hybridacademy.com/instructors.html looks pretty good. Solid instructors, a BJJ brown belt under Saulo Ribiero, good kickboxing credentials.
Spend a year training your ass off then get your first Amateur fight once you turn 18. GO TO COLLEGE. Fight every 3-4 months amateur until you are 20, if you have a decent record, get a Pro fight.
