Go to an MMA gym. If there isn’t one around, join the high school wrestling team. Look for boxing, kickboxing, judo, Muay Thai, submission wrestling, or Brazilian Jiujitsu gyms. And if you can’t find any of those, take whatever martial art is availible.
Whoa! never start MMA without learning a style of fighting.I suggest you take Bjj it excells in ground fighting. And then when you got your ground fighting down do some muay thai its a sport but they well show you the proper way to strike!
Study separately wrestling, bjj, and muay thai. Understand and get good at each.
Then–and only then–go to a school that "teaches" MMA. They’ll be great for pulling the various aspects of your skills together. But they tend to be not-so-good at teaching the individual components that you really need.
The best way would be to familiarize yourself with the environment of MMA (mind training) fighting. This would keep you going when the going gets tough during your physical training.
The best way to have an MMA fighter’s mindset is to watch MMA fighters slug it out in the different MMA organization like UFC, Pride, KO, etc. You can watch lots of them online for free at high quality here:
