What Can I Do to Train for MMA at Home Today?

i’m 14 and started MMA 2 months ago. I’m only going twice a week so I want to train at home. I don’t have any workout equipment so anything I can do indoors or outdoors. Thanks :)

There is SO VERY MUCH. First, fighters need to be in good shape. If you do anything you need to do a good set of calistenics(pull ups, sit ups, pushups, squats), a distance run, and some sprints. If you’re a striker, you can practice your techniques, anything from basic jabs and crosses, to kicks, knees and elbows, and more advanced combos and spinning kicks. Also, very helpful in becoming a better fighter is shadow sparring. If you’re a grappler, you can practice techniques of takedowns, and study new locks and bars. If you’re both, do both. But make sure you stay in shape.

practice your stance, your guard, and your punches and head movement in front of a mirror. correct all of your mistakes. ie. practice your form in front of a mirror.

also, think about your nutrition. I know you’re only 14 but maybe you can talk your mom into buying you some healthy foods that will increase your performance in class. you’re young, it’s time to develop good habits early on…

Jog laps around your block for endurance, do push-ups and pull ups( on a low tree limb) Do as many crunches as you can three times a day. Lie flat on your belly and stand up as fast as you can then go back flat on your belly. Do 20 reps and remember speed is the key on this.
