Kim Samborski will break down the proper technique for doing a plank and side plank. She will also offer progressions from the basic plank. What is important about this lesson is the details she provides in joint alignment. If you are doing a lot of planks these days because you are doing more ‘functional’ training or yoga, you should make sure that your body is aligned properly. I agree with Kim, variations from the plank are a fantastic way to strength the core and tighten the ab area. This is ideal for people you do not really understand proper plank form or have been doing planks or pushups and find themselves with lower back soreness or shoulder/wrist discomfort.
