My First MMA Fight

Background: This was my first MMA Fight that took place in Portland, OR. It is a novice fight so it is not quite as “clean” as a pro MMA fight. My opponent may have been about 5lbs lighter than me but had 2 amateur level cage fights. This guy was no slouch… Hind sight is 20/20: My main concern in this fight was getting taken down as I was informed my opponent was primarily a submission wrestler. It turns out that he has mostly a kickboxing background, had I known this I was definitely have been less gun shy on my feet. I was in decent shape for this fight, but I still gassed a bit towards the end. Hands up, hands up, hands up… This was a close fight, and it doesn’t really matter to me who may have won. I’m just glad that I was able to put on an entertaining fight for my teammates and friends that came to watch. I’m happy with my performance this being my first fight and I was able to overcome that initial hurdle. I learned a lot from this fight after watching this video again and I’m already looking forward to my next fight… Enjoy!

First of all my hats off two both warriors it takes ballz to do a real mma fight.

But I really really hate it when people fight outside of a ring or cage like this, sooooo many bad things can happen to the fighters and even the people watching, but good fights!

when your hands are outside during a clinch, you could have tried for a judo throw, turn his body, left or right, and hook the corresponding leg, and turn in the same direction as well, then you’ll probably be in the dominant position good luck for next fight ^^

Your age doesnt matter, but you usually want to find an opponent who almost have the same amount of skills as you to put a good show, so if you are 14, you’ll have to find someone who is 14 since the difference between a 14 years old kid and a 17 years old is way bigger than 20-23…unless the 14 years old kids is godly skilled. So yea…if you are young you’ll have a hard time finding someone else young who would be ready to fight.

I am not familiar with MMA and I am curious. Are throws and Aikido tricks allowed? I see the hand protectors are designed for allowing the hands to grasp. And are punches with the head allowed? Sorry for my incompetence. Greetings from Bulgaria! :)
