It has many UFC fighters trained in MMA JUST?
I know MMA is not a style, but seems to be open many places teach MMA / style UFC (BJJ, Muay Thai, Wrestling, etc) are much UFC fighters are trained in this type of gyms or all arts and combine different learning? I know at first it was as various arts and now pass through the styles, but to investigate the background Many fighters have many black belts in several arts, not just in MMA training gyms
Good question. Not much, but I think you will see more in the near future. Two I can think of is Forrest Griffen and Chris Leban. Many others fought in high school and immediately began training in MMA gyms, never studied boxing, muay thai, karate BJJ or separately. Ed Herman is An example of this road. Most of the older competitors began on a foundation of art and then added the MMA. At this point, I think it's fair to say that MMA is its own style. There are techniques you learn in MMA you will not find on other arts – such as land and technical books or how to use the spring to help the tackles. The more specific combination of skills in boxing, muay Thai, wrestling and BJJ are becoming more standardized. That said, probably the best MMA fighters always separate study art with master instructors and training in MMA gyms. George St. Pierre comes to mind.
