MMA Training Tips…Please Help!!!!?
I currently dont have any money for training at a club, so i would like to know what I can do from my home using my basic equipment, in my basement to improve my stand up and ground game. I have a heavy Bag, clip together foam mats (10×10) Gloves, Headgear, a few sets of free weights and a pull up bar. What kind of drills, bag work/kicking/elbow combo’s, conditioning excersises ect…can I do to help improve my game until I can afford to join a club thanks.
Ok dude this is what I did.
I went out and picked up BJ Penns book and he shows you everything from punching to dirlls I would lift but you don’t want to bulk up because you will be slow I would run around the mat for 20 min then hit the bag I would say the best thing for you to do is go out and buy a couple of books they are cheap you can find them at boreders or barns and nobile they will teach you everything.
Good luck
the only thing you can do is lift…you need to train with professionals to get real practice
Find a lot of good tuts on YouTube and watch them as you work. BJ Penn’s book is fantastic if you are training at home.
get some books, i recommend the anderson silva striking book that helps tremendously with stand up fighting, and clinch work, and also get some good grappling books that work submissions. it is best to have a partner who has some exp with jiu jitsu, judo, wrestling ect. and practice submissions and positioning drills, and free grapple to use the submissions in a live grappling scenario. you will have to get into a good gym to get precise positioning and technical help it’s a must to join a gym for that reason you wont be able to learn the technical side from a book.
