Thanks!
My life got off course & I discovered these principles to get my life back on course. I could see they were universal but nobody seemed to care. So I am having to show people how power they really are by doing these videos. I am glad you see the power of them.
Here is some extra wisdom for you which you may not want to hear but I think it will help you. Real winners cooperate, not compete.
I agree. these ideas are very universal outside of sports too. most people will say that training is half mental half physical but during the fight it’s acttually 80% mental & only 20% physical bcuz you allready have what you’re going to have during the fight physically so it’s almost all mental. I agree wih that too. I’ve noticed that all the people I’ve fought that were angry or talking shit and underestimated me have and always will lose if they think that way. fighters need to be humble
Sounds good! I have always been underestimated too. Yeah, if body was that important than body builders would be the best fighters. hahaha With that said body is still necessary or Steven Hawkins would be a good fighter.
To get the most out of your training you need to be smart too. Over train & you get sick & injuries. Train smart & get better with few problems.
Here is what I have found too: guys who give me respect are bad asses, guys who do not are fools.
I bet they are fools. especially on youtube, there’s a lot of fools. I think that anyone who would disrespect you on youtube is definetly very ignorant. some people are too ignorant to understand some of the things you’re saying but people that have an open mind get it. people with open minds usually go places in life. it’s rare to have a successful close minded person but it does happen & usually those people are really bad & selfish people. I’m just curious about your accent but where ru from?
I like that, it’s rare to have a successful close minded person.
The accent is Kentucky. Where are you at?
Interesting thought: the disrespect that someone shows you is a window of opportunity to defeat them.
Massachusetts, just outside of Boston. I’m very close to where the Patriots play. From what I’ve heard UFC is finally supposed to be comin to Massachusetts this year so I’m psyched about that, do they have any UFC events in Louisville or close to Kentucky?
I think they had one in Cincinnati for Rich Franklin? UFC 107 was in Memphis, so what somewhat close. Are you planning on attending one?
oh ya I thought one of the recent events was in Memphis but I wasn’t sure. Franklins rematch w/Silva was in Cincinnati. I definetly want to go to a UFC event to check it out especially if it’s in Boston bcuz I go to school in Boston & I know my way around the trains so I think it would be alot of fun. I’m praying they have the Anderson Silva vs Vitor Belfort fight here bcuz that’s what I want to see the most this year. or if strikeforce brought Fedor or Hendo here that would be great too
Anderson/Vitor is going to be a mega fight. I hope you get to see that one.
Wikipedia says it’s supposed to happen @ UFC 112 which is gonna be in Abu Dhabi way out in the middle east. I think that’s strange bcuz it’s gonna be one of if not the biggest fight they’re going to have all year. I’m a huge fan of both but I think Vitor really has what it takes to win. It’ll be a good fight either way bcuz they’re both well-rounded & amazing stand up fighters
I think Vitor has the power & explosiveness to take him to the ground & finish him before Anderson gets his 30 seconds to figure you out. I believe Vitor is training with Randy now so you know they are going to have a good strategy.
ya he is training with Randy so I think you maybe right but bcuz of some of the things Anderson has said I think Vitor may have something to prove. Silva said that Vitor won’t stand with him & I think the fact that he said that means he’s over confident bcuz if anything I think Anderson should take Vitor down but you’re right, Vitor could also take Anderson down & win a decision too. Silva’s offended that Vitor was willing to fight him & he took it to heart so I’m not sure where his head is @
Why was he offended?
He and Vitor used to train together. they haven’t in a while & Vitor agreed to the fight bcuz he’s an athlete, not bcuz he has anything against Anderson but he took it personally I guess. It’s similar to why he will never fight Lyoto machida except he and Lyoto are really good friends. It’s almost like when Tito said he didn’t wanna fight Chuck Liddell. I know that Silva said Machida’s style is hard for him to spar against, I wonder how the sparring with Vitor went?
Interesting!
BillyDKY-In your opinion do you think headphones should be avoided while training?
Yeah, it takes your mind off your training, your body & your learning. A still mind is were great things happen. Never underestimate peace & quiet. The best spiritual training I have ever done was in the forest. I can tell you are going to go far because you are asking the right questions. This Friday I will be putting out a video on Physical Exercise & I point out this issue. What I say is not popular but it does produce results. Good luck & let me know how it works out.
man everything you said is correct im a martial artist and all these really help and i think that 80% is mental 15% is physical and the other 5% is luck cuz u just never know wen ur gonna get caight.
Thanks brother! I really like your breakdown of the percentages. I’ve been struggle to find the right percentages but you seem to have nailed it down. Thanks!
If you had to breakdown the 80% for mental down into consciousness & unconscious, what would you give each?
i think i would have to give the unconscious slightly more percentage because you’re consciousness is based on you’re own opinion which isnt always correct but i think everyone would break it donw differently so i cant give an accurate answer
I’m going to go 60/20.
I really like this blog as well !!! and ya some more people need to view this cuz it seems most fighters these days mainly focus on the physical and technical side of things and not enough on the mental side….
This should give you an advantage in your training.
Wow I learned something new/ realized something I forgot from this video. Thanks BillyDKY!… & the machida thing had me at amazement, look what shogun did to him. I guess he find out what machida had that no one else knew about.
