I think that you should take muai thai for several years before considering jiu jitsu, because its best to have a good solid background in one art before taking up several at once esspecially at your age because that would give you a good time advantage to master muai thai before moving to jiu jitsu. And remember it may not be as fun as you thought it would be at first, but you have to keep at it and eventually you will learn it as a routine. It ussually gets alot more fun when you can spar but you are too young for that at the moment.

Honestly, i would begin with the grappling art at your age. BJJ, especially the no gi components takes a very long time to master and at your age I would start that now. I don’t know where you live of course, but you may very well be able to find a school that teaches both Muay Thai and BJJ, and also I would council not to set your sights so squarely on BJJ that you exclude other grappling arts. Shooto style and catch submission wrestling, Judo, and russian Sambo have a lot to offer, sambo in particular with its entries and leg locks. If you are dead set on beginning with Muay Thai, Then I would say 2 years of hard study, though again I highly recomend beginning with the grappling base.

I really think you should take muay thai for like 3-6 years so you can get the basics down packed and advance too, then you can take bjj, but if you take both classes you will be doing Mixed Martial Arts witch is better, two for the price of one.

    good luck
