Martial Arts Training Equipment?

Me and my brother are going to start martial arts classes on Tuesday. He’s taking Muay Thai Kickboxing and i’m taking their MMA program. What types of training equipment would be good for my house, when not in the gym?

For the classes you will be buying bag gloves, sparring gloves, hand wraps, shin guards, head guard, elbow pads, groin protector, or at least the majority of this lot but not needed all at once.
So in addition for in the home when you get a little bit of knowledge of what you are doing ( only shadow work when not supervised for the first few months till you will be able to work safely) Focus mitts, thai pads and heavy bag will allow you to cover anything you learn in the classes.
weights skipping rope and the likes are useful for the fitness side of things.

do you have any experience in any martial art? because if your going to start training MMA with no experience, expect to have a difficult time for awhile.

buy a punching bag, weights, mats if possible, gloves for sparring, mitts and thai pads if you guys are going to practice techniques at home, pull up bar

    How about these essentials:
    - A heavybag
    - Weight bench, barbell, dumbells
    - Pull-up bar
    - Focus mitts
    - Jump rope (alternate with roadwork)
    - Medicine Ball
