Looking for a MMA Gym in San Francisco.?
I am looking for a good MMA gym to sign up for in San Francisco… it is between El Nino Training and Fairtex can anybody offer me advice on where to go? Or suggest anywhere else? I have never done this before so i am lost and do not how to start… can someone give me a rundown on how this goes, the whole process, from buying equipment to signing up to actually hitting the bags.. i will take ANY advice… thanks!
Both are great gyms, I suggest El Ninos training center, I train there from time to time, normally I train out of cesar gracie jiu jitsu center in p hill, but we fight under the same banner. I suggests Gilberts gym, because you said good MMA gym, fairtex has a fantastic muay thai program but their wrestling is non-existant and their bjj is not that great either. Also at El ninos training center its like a family, they train very hard and they all train to fight and compete at a very high level so if your serious about mma go to El ninos training center.
The equipement you’ll need is shorts, rashguards/t shirts, cup, shin pads, and a pair of gloves, oh and mouth piece. Don’t worry bout anything else Gilbert "el nino" Melendeze is a very friendly guy even though he is ranked one of the best 155 fighters on the planet, he’s very down to earth as are the rest of the guys on his team they will walk you through things as long as you walk in their willing to learn, with no chip on your shoulder.
