wrestling does not define fighting, i luv mma but randy did a huge diservice by put his tail between his legs and goin STR8 to the ground.. plenty wrestklers have stood with strikers, its called heart and talent

You cant compare boxing and mma by this!! A 42 yo man needing a payday. If you take any MMA fighter and put him in a boxing rings by boxing rules against a trained, well conditioned boxer like this mma fighter was and they will get killed. KILLED!
There is this arrogance every time this spectacle takes place on MMA terms and they laugh at boxing because of it. But just remember Boxers come INTO your sport when they are old and washed up and the big pay days in boxing aren’t coming. MMA =SHIT!

@threppin well lets put it this way, in a street fight the MMA fighter tunes the boxer up and down the block…so take away the rules for a minute….and the “SHIT” MMA fighter schools your boxer ANY DAY

@threppin Boxing is sport that is specialized only on fist strikes, you’re missing a lot of tools here and you forget that most MMA fighters are wrestlers who have a crash course in stand up fighting so they don’t get clobbered in the first five seconds. Also MMA isnt’ just about wrestling, there’s also quite a bit of striking and boxing skills when combined with some good ground game and a leg crash course can really put on the hurt.

@tonberrykinged I don’t know, man. A lot of boxers seem pretty eager to hold on to each other, and that’s technically not even supposed to happen.

Both Matt Skelton and Gary Turner are from Muay Thai backgrounds. Gary Turner is a good MMA fighter because he also dominated judo and ju-jitsu in the mid 90s, early 2000s. Matt Skelton beat Gary Turner at Muay Thai in K1 in 2000, going from Muay Thai to boxing to MMA. Both of them beat British thai boxing champion Tyrone Herod, who is fantastic fighter and trainer. Strangely though, kick boxer Maurice Smith embraced MMA still with little ground skills when he won UFC 14

It’s criminal that the names you mentioned are even referred to as boxers. Butterbean especially, he is not a boxer, he’s a fat tit.

as seen over and over again, going into the ring with 1 style is a bad idea. MMA fanboys need to stop being ignorant and saying boxers are all wank. Its not that boxing is a shit style, its just that by using only 1 style you are vulnerable. Boxing fanboys need to stop being stupid and saying that a great boxer will always beat a great MMA fighter IN A MMA FIGHT because chances are they wont… unless they learn a grappling style (in which case they become MIXED MARTIAL ARTISTS)
