Martial arts in general is a great work out so if you go mma then you are effectively getting a couple of different types of workout at 1 time.
No depending on your experience and athletic level it could be a good match for you to go into mma whether it is just for a workout or if you actually want to start fighting mma.
I would check out some of your local gyms and see what they have to offer and check into the back ground of some of the instructors a bit. Then I would go to each of the gyms and sit in on a couple of classes, to get a feel for the coaches/instructors and see how you think you would fit in at each gym. If you are really in it to get into fighting then I would be looking for a gym that has a fair number of active competitive fighters already there, this will asure you of quality training/ sparring partners.
Best of luck!
Just start with 1 martial art and work your way up. You might want to start looking at gyms in your area. Yes you get great workout and it is exciting.
dont worry bout the pretenders. Yes it is an ureal workout and it requires alot of concentration and dedication. find a reputable gym in your area and get amongst you will not look back.
Try it and find out! They won’t throw you right into a fight or start punching you in the face, you’ll start slow with the basics and have plenty of time to decide if it’s right for you!
