How to Get Into Mixed Martial Arts?
I’m looking into how to get into boxing first then other stuff. Also I’m 13 is it to late or do I still have time. I’m 6’1" 1/2 and around 212 pounds so I definitely have a good start but I’m sort of chubby. Whats a good exercise routine. Also I play baseball a lot do you think that would get in the way if so I wouldn’t want to start mma.
wait a bit longer before you get in mma if you want to play basket ball instead lots of pepole come on here saying im 48is it to late the answer is this no matter your age you can still get in it and mma is more then what they show in UFC or bellatur or pride its alot differnt and if you still want to start talk to some of the local dojos they will know the best way to go about it good luck hope you chose the right path
Never listen to anyone that tells you not to follow YOUR dream as it is NOT theirs to want to follow. MMA is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and if you think that it is for you go for it!!! You should diversify yourself and play all sports since the best overall athlete usually carries an advantage. The best background to get you started is wrestling if your school offers it and if not then find a serious jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, judo, or any other martial arts school that is in your area and as you get older progress and learn more of all sports by the time you are half way through high school you will know in you heart what you love the most and you will follow that dream. MMA is a serious group of disciplines under one umbrella term and is hard but rewarding work just like baseball football basketball etc. It is also an incredible way to get into shape. Bet of luck to you and don’t ever let anyone talk YOU out of YOUR dream.
I’d say it’s definitely not too late to start picking up a martial art. There are people waaay older than you that are taking on a martial art. But stick with one. Pick one you think you’ll like and stick with it. Your initial feeling is correct, and mma will take up a lot more time than you may be prepared to give up at this time. Try researching all the different styles and make sure mma isn’t something you’d really like to do though. Who knows? Maybe you’d end up dropping baseball to pick up mma!
