How Should I Approach MMA? Like Home Training Workouts and Such?

I recently JUST discovered that i would be interested in MMA. How to approach it i’m not sure of. I want to do some home training and going to the gym…ONLY until i get a car and my L. After that im going to find classes. Any suggestions?

    Bridging and working out on the punching bag.

    If money is tight for you like it is for most ,youtube can be your best friend. Just punch in what you wanna know. They have examples of everything from workouts to actual fighting techniques. Best of all its all free!! Hope that helps

    make some space at home, do jumping jax, push ups, crunches,mountain climbs. if you have a basement or backyard, you can buy a punching back also you may want to buy a weightband

    I recommend you find the nearest MMA gym since I dont know where you are from my recommendations are (Xtreme Couture, American Top Team, Team Quest, Blackhouse, AKA, erik paulson in terms of MMA ) for home training for solo or a few of your buddies here are my suggestions.

    For Striking:

    Bannana Bag – for Punches. high to low Kicks, elbows, knees)
    Clinch Dummy

    For Grappling:

    Grappling Dummy preferably "Bubba" http://bubbadummy.com/
    Matts – overall movement get the ones that you can do takedowns

    For Conditoning and Core Strength:

    Kettle Bell
    Elastic Brand
    Medicine Ball (Keep in mind there a lot of exercises)
    Stability Ball (Movement and Flexibility)
    Dumbells (for punching and push up varation)
    Bosu Ball
    Power Wheel
    Shadowboxer puncher
    TRX
    Tire and Hammer (but becareful)

    For Cardio and Plyometrics:

    Either a Jog on the Park or Street
    Treadmill or Aerodyne Bike
    Cone Training
    Agility Ladder
    Jump Boxes
