Before Training MMA – Protein Bar or Shake? Which Brand?
Started training MMA and am looking for some feedback regarding what to eat before working out. Should I go with the energy bar or the protein shake? Which brand? Thanks!

Anything with carbohydrates and protein before your training should be good.
This includes some protein shakes and bars. Brand or type of supplement doesn’t matter. It’s what’s consumed in nutrients that counts.
If you really want to get technical you can consume a whey shake post and casein shake after(or MPI shake). About 15-20g carbohydrates before and 30g post(helps aid in protein synthesis, assuming you do a post workout shake).
*Note you should still maintain a good diet and count calories and cycle nutrients correctly or you will gain fat. Caloric surplus = fat.
