Are There Any Mixed Martial Arts Competitions in This Country?

Like karate vs kung fu, kung fu vs Jujitsu etc.
Preferably on the east coast. I live in north carolina, so if something close to that, that would be good. But anywhere would be great

I went to a tournament like that once. My state isn’t really close to yours, but they do exist. Most of the students at the tournament I went to were karate students, followed by a bunch of different styles of Taekwondo, a few Kung Fu students, and some other that I’m not sure what they were, but there weren’t any grappling MA’s there. Also, Mixed Martial Arts implies MMA, which is a kind of fighting, not different martial arts fighting against each other.

    uhhhhhhh
Mixed Martial Arts have competitions going on pretty much in every state, in many different cities. It doesn’t work the way you described. The competitors typically have 2 styles, that are for ground fighting, and fighting standing up. It doesn’t pit a particular style against another style. I suggest reading up on it.

just type ur state, and MMA and you’ll find something

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is the rule set that’s used by companies like the UFC, Strikeforce, Pride, the IFL, Elite XC, etc. I know they have local competitions in Virginia, and I think they’re trying to have a few in South Carolina. Haven’t heard about any in NC, though that doesn’t mean that they don’t occur. All styles are allowed to enter, as long as you abide by the rules of MMA (no gouging or biting, no kicks to the head of a downed opponent, no groin strikes, etc).
